President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated Ukrainian cops on the occasion of second anniversary of National Police of Ukraine.

The president wrote on Facebook and published a video, Censor.NET reports.

"Congratulations on the second anniversary of the National Police of Ukraine! Loyal service to the ideals of good and justice and professional fulfillment of tasks are the features of Ukrainian police officers, who have been highly praised by the society over this period.

"Happy holiday, Ukrainian cops! ", - wrote the president.

On July 2, 2015, the National Police of Ukraine was officially established. It was on this day that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on its creation. The first stage of the Interior Ministry reform was the introduction of the patrol police, which became a "showcase" of reforms in the main law enforcement agency of Ukraine. The first city to meet the new police was Kyiv. July 4, 2,000 patrol officers sworn allegiance to the Ukrainian people. By the end of fall of that year, the patrol police started operating in Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Uzhhorod and Mukachevo.
