"We are not going to conceal anything. We have photos, videos, the scheme of personnel deployment. The results of the investigation will show whether the police acted and applied impact tools properly," said head of the Dnipro police department Andrii Bidylo after being asked about the abuse of authority by law enforcers during the detention of a group of young men in the city downtown.

During mass events in Dnipro, according to Bidylo, the police seized four knives, three pieces of traumatic weapons, one gas pistol, six pepper sprays, balaclavas, and the like. A canister with a chemical mixture "with a specific odor" was also seized from one of the participants.

Public activist Kyrylo Dorolenko earlier reported that the activists of the Sich NGO had been detained in downtown Dnipro after they refused to demonstrate the contents of their backpacks to the police. Later, he wrote that all the detainees had been released.

A video of the apprehension has been released by local online media.
