“Russia’s actions are not going to be tolerated,” – Canada’s Defense Minister on extension of military training mission in Ukraine. VIDEO

Extension of operation UNIFIER – Canada’s military training mission in Ukraine - sends Russia a clear message about the Canadian support for Ukraine.

This was said by Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan, Censor.NET reports citing CBCNews.

"We stand by Ukraine. … We are extending a UNIFIER and sending a very strong message to Russia," the senior official said. "But that is not the only message. We have right now a frigate that's constantly working with NATO. We have air policing that will be going in as well. We have troops right now in Poland as a transition in the Latvia mission as well. So when you put it all together we are sending a very strong message of deterrence," the minister said.

"And that what our message is: that NATO, we stand together and also bilaterally with our allies we also will be supporting Ukraine as well; that Russia's actions are not going to be tolerated," he stressed.

The Canadian defense minister believes that the diplomacy is just as important, while the parties need to get back to the responsible conversation and dialogue.
