 Over 700 Land Forces Academy cadets, officers join #22PushUpChallenge to support ATO veterans. VIDEO+PHOTOS

On Jan. 24, the cadets and officers of Hetman Sahaidachnyi National Academy of Land Forces took part in the worldwide #22PushUpChallenge campaign launched to raise awareness to veteran suicide prevention.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

More than 700 cadets and officers of Hetman Sahaidachnyi National Academy of Land Forces simultaneously made 22 push-ups at the parade deck outside the Academy taking up the challenge of their colleagues from Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

"For now, it is our country's all-time record in #22PushUpChallenge in terms of number of simultaneously involved participants," the ministry noted.

The military performed a flashmob with the lead of Academy First Deputy Chief Colonel Oleksii Shevchenko, who also took part in the event.


By participating in this campaign, the future officers and their instructors expected to draw attention to the problems of combatants, above all, those who defended and still defend their homeland by force of arms in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Ukraine's east.

The staff of the National Academy of Land Forces passed the torch to the members of Ivan Cherniakhivskyi National Defense University of Ukraine.
