 Ex-Justice Minister Lukash returned to Ukraine and was detained in Kyiv, - PGO. VIDEO

Former Justice Minister Olena Lukash has been detained as a result of investigative measures.

This was announced by Spokesperson for the Security Service of Ukraine Olena Hitlianska, Censor.NET informs.


She suggested that the detention was related to the crimes against Maidan.

"Do you remember her spiteful statements during the most terrible days of the Maidan, her stance on the voting of the "dictatorship laws of Jan. 16?" she asked.

According to Hitlianska, Lukash is being brought to the Prosecutor General's Office to formalize her detention.

The footage of former justice minister's detention has also been shown at the briefing.

"I am in Kyiv. There is no pressure put on me," Lukash said on the video.

Prosecutor Vladyslav Kutsenko also said that fugitive ex-justice minister was also suspected of commission of economic crimes.

"The investigative measures to serve [her] notice of suspicion of involvement in the crimes of the Yanukovych regime are underway. We have gathered information about the involvement of Lukash to the offenses punished under the Article 191 (large-scale misappropriation of funds) and Article 366 (forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," he said.

At the same time, he clarified that Lukash has misappropriated about 2.5 million hryvnia during her ministry.
