Ukrainian Foreign Ministry confirmed information about Ukrainians being among victims of the traffic accident in Poland.

According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland, an accident involving Ukrainian passenger bus following the Dolyna-Ivano-Frankivsk-Warsaw route occurred at 6:20 a.m. local time, July 23, on S17 highway, 70 kilometers from Warsaw. According to Polskie Radio, the number of Ukrainians killed in the accident near the Polish town of Garwolin near Warsaw has increased to five people.

The case is under special control of the consular department of the Embassy.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry claimed the information was being checked.

"We are now checking this information," the press service said.

According to the Garwolin police press-secretary Marek Kapusta, the accident killed five people including the bus driver. Other 27 were injured and taken to hospital, six of them being in grave condition.
