"Ukrainian servicemen received upgraded MiG-29MU1 fighters. Two warplanes that will strengthen defense capability of the Ukrainian army are already in one of the military units," the head of state wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.
According to Poroshenko, MiG-29 fighters, along with Su-27, are the main combat aircraft of the Air Force of Ukraine: "Upgraded to the level of MiG-29MU1, the aircraft received more powerful radar and a satellite navigation system integrated into the aircraft’s radio-positioning complex."
The president also noted that the combat aircraft were upgraded by the Lviv State Aviation and Repair Plant in conjunction with other subsidiaries of Ukroboronprom State Concern.
"We continue strengthening Ukrainian army’s defense capability!" Poroshenko added.
