"Mr Trukhanov, are you corrupt?" - Odesa Mayor's guards attack BBC reporter after tough questions on official's secret investments overseas. VIDEO

BBC reporter Andy Verity wanted to ask Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov whether he had been using London to hide dirty money when the official's security hustled him out of the place and kicked him in the groin.

As reported by Censor.NET, a BBC investigation has revealed how an organised crime gang secretly invested millions of pounds in the UK.

The journalists discovered that the Ukrainian gangsters bought luxury properties in central London.

This is what happened when reporter Andy Verity tried to question the Mayor of Odesa, suspected of involvement:

Local journalists captured on camera Trukhanov's henchmen assaulting Verity. The incident occured on March 27, 2018.

As reported, a BBC Panorama investigation released on April 23 found that a Ukrainian crime gang used offshore firms in British tax havens to secretly invest millions of pounds in the UK. The gangsters, and in some cases family members, bought luxurious property in prime London locations, including a £12.5m flat. The daughter of a man dubbed the "Don of Odessa" is the registered owner of three homes in one expensive block.

Many of the revelations come from the Paradise Papers data breach. The Paradise Papers show Trukhanov had a major stake in four offshore firms. The official is currently under criminal investigation in Ukraine.
