Captured Russian paratrooper Aleksey Generalov speaks to Kremlin: “Stop sending soldiers to Ukraine. It is not our war.”. VIDEO

Russian paratrooper Aleksey Generalov, who is being detained by Ukrainian security forces, called on the Kremlin to stop sending Russian soldiers to the territory of Ukraine.

"This is not our war." This was a statement made by Russian paratrooper Aleksey Generalov. He was among Russian paratroopers who surrendered to Ukrainian army yesterday. The soldier called on Russian authorities not to send soldiers into the territory of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainian Channel 5 TV.

"The military, who heaven knows what are doing here, do not understand what they do and why they do it. Politics and money dominate this conflict ... The narrative about militia and the two republics ... I came to a conclusion that the country must be united. I saw the local people, they treat us as brothers-Slavs, but they are insulted by the fact that these brothers-Slavs came to them with guns. Please, stop sending boys [from Russia to Eastern Ukraine]. Stop, do not do it ... What for? This is not our war," said Generalov.

As Censor.NET informed earlier, on Aug. 25 a joint task force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Security Service detained 10 Russian soldiers near Dzerkalne village (Amvrosiivka district, the Donetsk region). The soldiers belong to the 331st Regiment of the 98th Svir Division of Airborne Troops of the Russian Armed Forces (army base number 71211, located in the town of Ivanovo).
