Tymoshenko Named Persons Involved in Shcherban Murder. VIDEO

Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko stated that she has nothing to do with the murder of deputy Yevhen Shcherban.

In a statement of ex-Prime Minister published on the official website of Batkivschyna party she states:

"I know that you, like me, are shocked by new allegations that the Prosecutor General announced on January 18, 2013, with respect to my participation in the tragic murder of Yevhen Shcherban and illegally obtaining government guarantees for financial UESU corporation," said Tymoshenko.

"Be calm and confident as I am: These charges are the agony, hysterics of Yanukovych who knows that all the previous criminal charges against me failed as empty political mud, and soon after the European Court of Human Rights decision he will have to release me," added the ex-Prime Minister.

"He is completely afraid of it, because he knows that he will lose the presidential election in 2015 in my favor and will lose everything he illegally amassed by "hard work," explained Tymoshenko.

She noted that the new charges "will not be difficult to refute in the international courts."

"In international, because the everyone knows the courts, prosecutors, and investigators in Ukraine," added Tymoshenko.

"I clearly and unequivocally state that I do not have anything to do with the tragic murder of Yevhen Shcherban in 1996, and this will be proved in international courts and the courts of other countries," she said in a statement.

"Yevhen Shcherban and Oleksandr Momot were shot in Donetsk, and Akhat Bragin - blown up at the Donetsk stadium. Then all the property of the corporation Industrial Union of Donbas which is estimated to be worth billions of dollars went to Victor Yanukovych and Rinat Akhmetov," said Tymoshenko.

"After the tragic murder of Scherban the Viktor Yanukovych could become the governor of Donetsk oblast. Leaders of the gang that killed Shcherban were immediately eliminated in Donetsk colony, which at that time was controlled by prosecutors Kuzmin and Pshonka. What else do I need to explain and what does Shcherban murder have to do with my name?" she added.

"Today, Viktor Yanukovych decided to accuse me - his main political rival - of the crimes he committed in the 90s and try to keep me in prison for life, and may be try to kill me in prison, as he did in 90's. But we will not let him do it," assured the former Prime Minister.

On January 18, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka said that former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko was "handed a suspicion" of organizing the murder of deputy Yevhen Shcherban in 1996.
