 Ammunition cache found in downtown Kyiv on route of Patriots’ March scheduled for Friday, - adviser to Interior Minister. PHOTO

The members of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Kyiv’s General Directorate of the National Police have just found ammunition cache in nonresidential premises of a house situated on Hrushevskoho Street in the heart of the capital.

Adviser to the Interior Minister Zorian Shkiriak wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

In particular, the law enforcement officers found five defensive and offensive grenades, 1.5 kg of TNT and several hundred rounds in the ammunition cache.

"The enemy (the Russian secret service) probably plotted to conduct an anti-government subversive action during the March of Patriots dedicated to the Virgin of Mercy feast and the Defender of Ukraine Day," Shkiriak wrote.


According to him, a cache was located on the route of the planned solemn procession. The investigation to identify all the circumstances is now underway.

"All the celebrations will take place as scheduled and according to the requests filed by the organizers despite the best efforts of the Russian security service and domestic spoilers. The units of the National Police and National Guard will be on high alert and ready for any challenges. The Kremlin-orchestrated provocations do not work with us!"
