The militants fired at a pedestrian bridge in the village of Stanytsia Luhanska (the Luhansk region) from RPG-27 Tavolga anti-tank grenade launchers.

Ukrainian soldiers found the remains of a shell near the bridge, Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center (anti-terrorist operation).

Tavolga is much more powerful than the common RPG-7V grenade launcher. It is designed to fight tanks equipped with reactive and heavy armor.

The RPG-27 fin stabilized round is a 105-mm tandem-charge HEAT warhead with a range of 200 meters. The round has a stated penetration capability in excess of 600 mm of rolled homogeneous armor (after explosive reactive armor) and 1500 mm of brick or concrete and 3700 mm of earth.

RPG-27 Tavolga was officially adopted by the Russian Government in December 2011. This grenade launcher type is not in service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Therefore, it is safe to argue that this is just another proof of the use of Russian weapons in the Donbas," the anti-terrorists operation Staff noted.
