Two troopers, 23-year-old Volodymyr Serhieiev (call sign Kaban) from Obukhiv city in the Kyiv region and 31-year-old Oleh Lysevych, combat medic from Ivano-Frankivsk, were killed by a Russian terrorists’ artillery strike on the Ukrainian forces’ positions in the industrial zone near Avdiivka (Donetsk region) July 6.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Hromadske, Serhieiev was wounded by shrapnel in the abdomen. He later died in Avdiivka's hospital. Lysevych died on the spot during the shelling despite the fact that he was wearing body armor. The shell fragment pierced his bullet-resistant vest between the armor plates.

Three more soldiers received minor injuries during that shelling.
