The religious procession that includes thousands of worshipers from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate managed to get through the police cordon in the village of Dmytrivka in order to proceed further along the Kyiv-Zhytomyr highway.

As reported by Censor.NET citing UNIAN, the marchers are heading for the capital. The police is driving by for security reasons.

The column is moving unhindered. No traffic is observed in both directions of the highway.

As previously reported, the so-called "religious procession for peace" started in the east of the country from the Sviatohirsk Monastery on July 3, and in the west of the country from the Pochaiv Monastery on July 9. The participants in both processions will meet in Kyiv at St. Volodymyr Hill and walk together to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, where a ceremonial service will be held on July 27, the eve of the celebration of Christianization of Rus-Ukraine.
