Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in conjunction with the National Police Internal Security Department carried out a special operation to expose two police officers involved in drug trafficking.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the SBU press service.

The report reads: "The law enforcement officers found a gram and a half of a drug on a police corporal in Boryspil. The police officer served in the provisioning center of the Kyiv police directorate.

'During the second phase of the operation, the Security Service officers tracked down a police major in Kyiv. The law enforcer worked in one of the regional directorates of the National Police in Kyiv.

"The SBU established his involvement in production of drugs in the illicit amphetamine laboratory in Boryspil. Being in the heat of passion, the police major rammed the car of the operatives trying to arrest him. The SBU officers continue the operation to arrest the policeman.

"Later, the law enforcement officers found remains of a substance similar to amphetamine in the car the fugitive policeman had left in downtown Kyiv.

"Criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1 of the Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine."
