"Today, June 12, 2016, grossly violating legitimate rights and interests of Andrii O. Medvedko and Denys V. Polishchuk, KORD [police rapid response unit - ed.] fighters, prosecutors Soroka, Sotnychenko, and two "doctors", who violated the Hippocratic Oath, beat Medvedko and Polishchuk, their lawyers, blocked Medvedko and Polishchuk in the room, forcibly took their blood and saliva samples which they refused to provide," he wrote.

"All this happened without participation of their lawyers, who were held by 30 KORD operatives each. That's what KORD was created for - to put pressure on patriots. The system destroys patriots and creates new special structures to prevent another Maidan. I congratulate the prosecutor's office of Kyiv on following NABU's practice of grossly violating the right to protection and the rights of lawyers," Lutsenko stated.

Serhii Voichenko, one of the lawyers, has released a video of the incident.

As previously reported, Oles Buzyna was killed on April 16, 2015 in Kyiv, outside the apartment building he lived in.

Two crime suspects Medvedko and Polishchuk, who had previously served in the area of anti-terrorist operation (ATO), were detained on June 18.

A pre-trial investigation is still underway. The suspects categorically deny their guilt. Multiple court hearings have been attended by many people, relatives, colleagues, friends, and acquaintances of Medvedko and Polishchuk.

On March 25, 2016, the Pechersk district court of Kyiv released Medvedko on parole.

Also, on March 25, the same court turned down a prosecutor's motion intended to extend a pre-trial restraint for another suspect Polishchuk beyond April 2. On April 26, the Appeals Court of Kyiv upheld the decision.
