71 kilos of heroin seized in Illichivsk Seaport, - SBU. PHOTOS

The officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in conjunction with the border guards and employees of the State Fiscal Service found over 71 kilograms of heroin in a container with laminated flooring, which arrived from Pakistan in Illichivsk Seaport.

Censor.NET reports citing the press-service of the SBU.

The report reads: "It was planned to deliver hard drugs in Spain through Ukrainian territory. The SBU initiated and held a joint international controlled delivery operation with law enforcement agencies of Spain in order to identify and eliminate all the contraband chain links.

As a result of the special operation, the Ukrainian and Spanish law enforcement officers stopped the activities of transnational drug ring that operated in Ukraine, Spain and several other EU countries.

More than 83 kilograms of heroin worth of about six million euros according to the so-called "drug market" were seized.

35 people involved in the international smuggling of heroin were also detained during the raid. The criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 3 of the Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine."
