The deceased pilot of Su-25, Senior Lieut. Yehor Bolshakov, was a native of Simferopol, press officer of the Ukrainian Army General Staff Vladyslav Selezniov said it to 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET reports.

"According to Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff spokesperson, the killed pilot was Senior Lieut. Yehor Bolshakov, a native of Simferopol and a graduate of the flight faculty at Kharkiv University of Air Force," the channel reports.

He was trained to operate L-37 and Su-25 aircraft. According to Selezniov, the pilot had all necessary permits to conduct solo flights.

According to the channel's correspondent reporting from the scene, military has cordoned off the area.

"We are now on Kharkiv-Simferopol highway, with military having cordoned off the scene and not allowing anyone closer than 300 meters. No comments are provided as well. They say no authorized persons are present," the reporter said.
