Donbas battalion fighters freed from captivity showed unique photos and videos confirming Russian army's participation in aggression against Ukraine. PHOTOS

The National Museum of Military History of Ukraine replenished its collection with unique photos and videos dedicated to battles for Ilovaisk and Chervonosilske in late August 2014.

Donbas battalion fighters call-signs Zanoza (Splinter), Lex and Nemets (German) provided the museum with 30 photos and eight videos, which they kept on a phone memory card while in captivity of the terrorists.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the Defense Ministry on Facebook.

"Despite several complete searches, the militants failed to detect it. The most noteworthy are photos and videos of prisoners and military equipment of the Russian armed forces captured by the Donbas battalion during a breakout through the so-called "green corridor" from Mnohopillia to Chervonosilske: these are prisoners and equipment of the 6th armored brigade and 31st assault brigade of the Russian Federation," the statement says.



It is reported that during the battle in Chervonosilske Donbas battalion managed to destroy several Russian tanks, IFVs, and APCs, as well as capture a serviceable T-72 and an IFV. Several survivors and two wounded Russian soldiers were also captured, and on June 30 the representatives of the battalion transferred them to the Russian side. A fragment of the video shows captured Russian tanks and paratroopers saved by heroic Donbas fighter in captivity, was published by the Security Service of Ukraine March 18, 2015 as evidence of a direct military aggression of the Russian armed forces.

"Photos and videos provided by Zanoza, Lex and Nemets will be valuable visual materials of a new display at the National Museum of Military History of Ukraine dedicated to the war in the Donbas," the press-service concluded.
