On the former site of the brigade's deployment in Dagestan. Botlikh 1327th Center for operational use intelligence and special units was formed. "To date, the 33rd Brigade has a formal "mountain" in its name. The former idea for its staffing with contract soldiers only and making a full-fledged mountain commando unit failed, and it is hardly staffed with conscripts. The only combat-ready unit of the brigade is a reconnaissance battalion with experienced contact soldiers who served in the Caucasus. The division of the 33rd brigade took part in the Russian-Georgian war in August 2008," the blogger adds.
