"One of the four forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class destroyers USS Ross DDG71 made northbound transit through Turkish Straits today and entered the Black Sea. This is its first Black Sea deployment in 2019," the report says.
USS Ross passed through Istanbul shortly before the sunset and was escorted by two Turkish Coast Guard Vessels TCSG-15 and TCSG-4307.
The ships of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia escorted NATO frigates entering the Black Sea. A group of three NATO warships entered the Black Sea on March 28.
Two vessels from the line-up of NATO Standing Navy Maritime Group 2 entered the Black Sea waters; Toronto, the frigate of the Royal Navy of Canada, and Santa Maria, the Spanish Navy frigate', reads the message. Dutch destroyer Evertsen joined the company, too.
