Russia has redeployed the latest air defense systems to the Donbas.

This was announced by U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt on his Twitter, Censor.NET reports.

The ambassador said that Russia had sent the latest air defense systems, including Pantsir-S1, to the east of Ukraine and was now directly involved in the hostilities.

According to Pyatt, a growing number of Russian forces is directly involved in military operations on Ukrainian territory. However, he noted that the tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, and multiple launcher rocket systems supplied by Russia are not enough to defeat the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Pantsir-S1 is a Russian short to medium range surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery weapon system. The system is designed to protect small objects from air attacks (both manned and unmanned). In addition to that, the system is able to fight against lightly armored ground targets and enemy soldiers. It has a range of up to 18 km.
