Cache of weapons produced in Russia found in Kharkiv region, – SBU. PHOTOS

Officers of the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found and defused a cache of Russia-made small arms used by terrorists in the area of Izium, the Kharkiv region.

This was reported by the press service of SBU, Censor.NET informs.

The hiding place was found after deciphering of a special map of the south-eastern part of the Kharkiv region, which map was seized from a militants' subversive group. This group was destroyed by Ukrainian army during the anti-terrorist operation near Yampil village in the Donetsk region.


"After deciphering the symbols of this map, the security service officers discovered and defused a hiding place with two portable anti-aircraft missile complexes Igla-1, both in state of combat, produced in Russia. The cache had been carefully masked by militants in a wooded area near the town of Izium, and paths to it were mine-studded," the Ukrainian State Security Service reported.


As of now, found firearms have been seized, the area near the shelter has been cleared of mines.
