Mariupol court places Donbas Battalion former commander Vynohrodskyi in two-month pre-trial detention

The Zhovtnevyi district court of Mariupol imposed a 60-day pre-trial detention on former commander of the Donbas Battalion Anatolii Vynohrodskyi (call sign Hal).

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukrinform, the closed court session was initially heavily guarded by the police. Vynohrodskyi got sick during the hearing.

The Zhovtnevyi district court earlier imposed the similar measure of restraint on Oleksandr Novikov - a former Donbas Battalion member suspected of abducting and torturing a person.

One of the Donbas Battalion former commanders Vynohrodskyi and his colleague, a former detachment member, were detained for attack on a security guard of a private farm in the Kirovohrad region last July.
