MP Herasymov says NABU seeks to return seized funds to embezzlers, requests Rada to appoint NABU auditor

Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) faction Chairman Artur Herasymov insists that the Ukrainian Parliament must address the personnel issues on the upcoming plenary week.

The lawmaker said at a meeting of Coordination Board of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the parliamentary correspondent for Censor.NET reports.

"As for the personnel appointments, you know that the parliament got behind several important appointments. I mean that the current year is nearly over but the MPs still cannot make a final decision, for instance, on the NABU auditor's candidacy. I am surprised to hear a criticism for example against the prosecutor general on embezzled 1.5 billion hryvnia which have been returned to the state and now cover the needs of healthcare, army, and social benefits of our citizens," he said.

"According to latest reports, NABU seeks to return 150 million hryvnia allocated for our healthcare, army and the social benefits of our citizens to those who have stolen them. This is an incomprehensible situation to say the least. We must scrutinize this situation extremely carefully," he said.

Herasymov believes the appointment of Constitutional Court judges to be no less important.

The MP also proposed to consider the bill on the diplomatic service immediately upon its submission to the Verkhovna Rada.
