State Emergency Service issues severe weather warning for Ukraine


The State Emergency Service of Ukraine says there is high risk of mud flows in the Carpathian Mountains.

As reported by Censor.NET referring to the State Emergency Service press office, 17-22 meters per second wind gusts are highly probable in Ukraine's western and southern regions while the areas adjacent to the Sea of Azov will come under 25-30 meters per second gusts on Oct. 30.

On Oct. 30 the country's western regions will be covered with rain and snow mixed. There is high risk of snowstorms in some places. The temperature will drop down to 1-6°C at night and in the daytime.

The wind will be blowing at a speed of 17-22 meters per second in the Kyiv region reaching 25 meters per second on the night of Oct. 31. Rain and snow mixed are highly probable there as well. The temperature will decrease to 1-6 °C at night and in the daytime.

Heavy precipitation may cause mudflows in the in the Carpathian Mountains.
