We're out, the fight goes on. We need to get Sentsov back, - Chiygoz

Deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz said he intends to keep fighting for human rights in Ukraine and release of Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia after he returns to Ukraine.

Chiygoz told reporters in Ankara, Censor.NET reports via 112.

Answering a question about his plans after return to Kyiv, Chiygoz said:

"But what has changed? We're out, the fight goes on. Dozens of people are held there [in Russia - ed.], the moving line never stops. We are now in better condition to continue the fight. Because we need to get the guys back, and Sentsov as well. We will ask President Erdogan for Sentsov," he said.

Chiygoz said they were released due to the efforts of the international community, especially Turkish President Erdogan and Ukrainian President Poroshenko. He says they didn't know anything about their release even after they boarded a plane to Turkey.

Earlier, Chiygoz told a briefing that he plans to return to Turkey after some time in Kyiv in order to meet Erdogan personally and thank him for his release.

Another deputy head of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov said he never promised not to return to Crimea, so he would try to enter the peninsula through the Kherson region of Ukraine.

The two said they were offered to be released in exchange for recognizing Crimea as Russian territory.

On Oct. 25, Censor.NET reported that members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov, who had been illegally sentenced by Russian occupants in annexed Crimea, were extradited to Turkey.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n460556
