Muzhenko might be questioned in case of Kalynivka ammo depot explosions, Lutsenko says

The Finance Ministry of Ukraine allocated funds upon the Defense Ministry's requests in timely manner, Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko says.

"I would like to disprove my reservations about timely allocation of funds by the Finance Ministry. We have found that the Finance Ministry allocated all resources as requested by the Defense Ministry," Prosecutor General told a briefing on Monday in Kyiv, speaking of investigative activities into explosions at the ammunition depot in Kalynivka, the Vinnytsia region, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

Lutsenko stressed that the investigation is focusing on information about "inadequate planning, funds transfer, and funds use by officials of the General Staff and directors of this ammunition depot."

"Give me some time so that I do not announce our key version ahead of time... I can only say that not just the management of these agencies will be indicted. We have another version that we need to check, because in addition to terrorist attacks, as I said, we also have facts of criminal negligence," Lutsenko said.

"Now we want to study in detail who should be held liable for huge losses of weapons," the prosecutor general added.

Answering a question whether investigative activities will include Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko, Lutsenko said: "All who must be involved into investigative activities will be, and investigators are not limited in their duties. I think the questioning of Mr. Muzhenko will also take place for this matter, but this will be decided by investigator himself. They got used during my tenure at this post that they don't have to ask anyone of that."
