Bill on de-occupation will strengthen position of Ukraine in matters of peacekeepers and hostages release, - Poroshenko

The bill on de-occupation, adopted by the Rada last week, will strengthen the position of Ukraine in the matters of hostages release by Russia and possible introduction of U.N. peacekeepers in the Donbas.

President Petro Poroshenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"Russia as the aggressor country will have no right to participate in the mission that must be dislocated throughout the occupied territory, including temporarily non-controlled area of the Ukraine-Russia border," Poroshenko wrote.

The head of state also said the document will strengthen Kyiv's position in hostages release.

On Oct. 5-6, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considered the package of presidential bills: bill #7163 on the Donbas de-occupation (passed in first reading), and bill #7164 on the special status of the occupied areas (approved by MPs and signed by the president).
