The Administration said in its statement that the adoption of the Act will allow implementing a comprehensive education reform that will increase the quality of education and assist Ukraine with being included in the European educational space.

Poroshenko called this reform one of the key ones, and says many other reforms depend on it.

The president stressed that the Act increases the role of the state Ukrainian language in the education process. The bill provides for equal opportunities for everyone, the president said.

Poroshenko stressed that the rights of the minorities will not be suppressed.

"Ukraine will keep demonstrating the treatment of the rights of the ethnic minorities that align with our international liabilities, are harmonized with the European standards, and are an example for neighboring countries," Poroshenko said.

The Education Act was adopted by the Rada on Sept. 5. It provides that the education will be held exclusively in Ukrainian after 5th grade.

Later, the parliament of Hungary adopted a resolution that condemned the bill and said it violated the rights of Hungarians in the Zakarpattia.
