Hroisman threatens AMCU chief with dismissal if collusion revealed

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman has expressed dissatisfaction with the work of head of the Antimonopoly Committee Yurii Terentiev.

As reported by Censor.NET, Hroisman said it during the Question Hour in the Verkhovna Rada, speaking about the experiment on using half of extra customs collections for road repairs.

"You are now talking about the customs experiment, this is a very important issue," Hroisman said, adding that the implementation of the experiment requires new equipment, namely scanners.

"The Ukrainian State Fiscal Service has announced a tender for the purchase of such scanners ... Yesterday or the day before yesterday, the Antimonopoly Committee canceled this tender. This is nothing but a crime against the state, against proceeds to the state budget. It is a crime that covers the smuggling in the country and does not allow us to effectively combat it. I'm going to sort it out with the Antimonopoly Committee. If I find the collusion that the whole country is talking about, that the Antimonopoly Committee has become the second Tender Chamber in the country, I will initiate the dismissal of the head of the Antimonopoly Committee together with all his hangers-on," Hroisman said and asked the MPs for their support in the matter.

"We must overcome this evil once and for all," the premier summed up.
