Prosecution to ask court to put ankle monitors on Rozenblat and Poliakov, - Kholodnytskyi

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will urge the Solomianskyi district court to oblige people's deputies Boryslav Rozenblat and Maksym Poliakov to wear ankle bracelets.

As reported by Censor.NET referring to Ukrinform, this was announced by SAP head Nazar Kholodnytskyi.

"Most likely, we'll ask the court to order them to post bail and surrender their passports," he said.

According to Kholodnytskyi, prosecutors will also seek to make the court oblige Rozenblat and Poliakov to wear bracelets to control their movement.

The chief anti-corruption prosecutor refuted the information circulated in the media about SAP's intention to ask the court to arrest the lawmakers. He noted that the Verkhovna Rada did not give consent to their arrest.

On July 13, Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko said he had issued indictments against MPs Maksym Poliakov (People's Front) and Boryslav Rozenblat (Petro Poroshenko Bloc). Rada supported lifting their immunity but failed to cast enough votes in favor of their detention and arrest.

The lawmakers are suspected of receiving bribes for lobbying the amber mining interests of Fujeira company.

Rozenblat's bodyguard was detained by agents of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) on June 19. He had a bag with $200,000 in cash in it. He later agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
