I believe judges in UN court heard us. We must be optimistic, - Deputy FM Zerkal

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry hopes the judges of the International Court of the United Nations have ruled to protect human rights.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister, head of Ukrainian delegation in the ICJ Olena Zerkal on Facebook.

"Five weeks ago, we were leaving The Hague with a feeling that we did our best to prove with the U.N. ICJ the need to implement interim measures. But today, as I am waiting for the announcement of the decision in The Hague, I am worrying, for expectations of justice are often higher than the scope of norms of the international law," she wrote.

Zerkal said the Ukrainian party keeps working on efficient use of all legal instruments for making Russia accountable.

"Getting back to the key event of today - I keep believing that the judges heard us and ruled to protect human rights and prevent the situation from getting worse.

"Many thanks to those who support us and believes in us. We must be optimistic, despite all the peculiarities of the legal processes," the deputy FM said.

As reported, the U.N. International Court of Justice will announce its ruling in the case of Ukraine v. Russia on April 19.
