35 attacks on Ukrainian troops recorded yesterday as militants extensively used mortars, AA guns, IFVs, grenade launchers, - ATO HQ

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone remains tense but controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the ATO headquarters press center published on Facebook.

"The enemy opened fire on the positions of Ukrainian defenders 35 times over the past day. The greatest number of attacks was recorded in Prymorske direction. The enemy fired upon the strong points near Krasnohorivka with 82 mm mortars, anti-tank grenade launchers, and large-caliber machine guns. The ATO forces' positions on the outskirts of Vodiane and Hnutove came under attacks with grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns, and IFV weapons. Besides, Ukrainian marines deployed near Vodiane were fired upon with anti-aircraft gun. The militants shelled the strong points near Starohnativka, Talakivka, and Shyrokyne with grenade launchers and used large-caliber machine guns near Chermalyk and Pavlopil. The enemy snipers' activity was recorded in the vicinity of Novotroitske and Mykolaivka.

"The enemy employed grenade launchers of various systems and large-caliber machine guns against the ATO forces' positions on the outskirts of Avdiivka, Kamianka and Zaitseve in Donetsk direction. The defenders of Pisky and Opytne were fired upon with large-caliber machine guns.

"In Luhansk direction, the enemy shelled the strong points near Katerynivka with automatic grenade launchers, 120 and 82 mm mortars. The adversary committed strikes on positions near Krymske with 82 mm mortars and fired upon the defenders of Stanytsia Luhanska and Syze with small arms," the situation report reads.

As reported, combined Russian and separatist forces committed 32 attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions on April 17.
