PM Hroisman says EY should underpin putting Ukraine on top of corruption list

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman doubts the credibility of the ranking published by the international audit and consulting company Ernst & Young, where Ukraine ranks 1st in terms of corruption in business.

He stated this in the Verkhovna Rada during an hour of questions to the government, a Censor.NET parliamentary correspondent reports.

"I think you had to inquire with Ernst & Young what the survey was meant for, what answers they received and what it all tells us. Today, this information contains a lot of contradictions. Such a reputable company as Ernst & Young had to provide concrete explanations," Hroisman said commenting on EY's corruption list of 41 countries of Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, where Ukraine ranks 1st.

According to Hroisman, the introduction of the ProZorro system significantly reduced corruption in public procurement: "We introduced it [the ProZorro system - ed.] on Aug. 1, 2016. It is already clear the situation in this area has become revolutionary. According to our estimates, budget's 8 billion hryvnia ($297.386 million) has been saved since the launch of the system."

The prime minister also called on lawmakers who have information about corrupt officials, kickbacks and so on to report such facts to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

"I'm ready to exorcise such corrupt things. Please, name companies, interests, kickbacks, and a serious criminal case will follow, and someone will go to jail. Do not wait for an hour of questions to the government to ask the prime minister this question," Hroisman summed up.Источник: https://censor.net.ua/en/n436308
