Court attaches shares of Ukrtelecom communications provider, prosecutor general says

The Pechersk district court of Kyiv granted the request of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Office (PGO) to place the shares of Ukrtelecom and Trimob communications providers in escrow pending compensation of losses incurred by the state.

Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"The PGO's department combating organized crime is probing into illegal allocation of 220 million hryvnia from the state budget under instruction of Yanukovych and privatization of 93-percent stake of Ukrtelecom at a price reduced by 1.6 billion hryvnia," he wrote.

"Today, the Pechersk court granted PGO's petition to attach shares of Ukrtelecom and Trimob in order to exercise the public interest and secure compensation for losses," Lutsenko said.
