 US-Russia relations deteriorated under Trump, - Putin

The trust in relations between Russia and the United States under the administration of President Donald Trump has eroded.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Reuters, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Mir TV channel.

Asked whether relations with the U.S. under Trump got worse than under Barack Obama, Putin stated: "One could say that the level of trust on a working level, especially on the military level, has not improved but has rather deteriorated."

The aggravation in relations between Russia and the United States occurred last week after the U.S. launched a missile attack against a Syrian government airfield in response to an alleged chemical airstrike by Assad warplanes against opposition forces in the Syrian province of Idlib.

Following the attack, Trump called on all civilized countries to join the U.S. in its effort to put an end to the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria. The Kremlin called the U.S. missile strike against the Syrian government airfield an act of aggression against a sovereign state and violation of international law. Russia's stance was backed by Iran, while Trump's decision was applauded by Israel, Britain, Australia and Turkey.
