Ukraine's Poroshenko held talks with US Secretary of State before Tillerson's visit to Moscow

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held phone consultations with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on the eve of American-Russian negotiations in Moscow.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the presidential press office, the U.S. Secretary of State assured that the United States supports territorial integrity of Ukraine and insists on the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements, namely with regard to ensuring cease-fire regime.

Tillerson emphasized that Washington will not allow any package deal as regards solution to the situation in Ukraine and Syria.

Poroshenko thanked for supporting Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression in the Donbas and non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea.

The president also noted that Ukraine and USA are making efforts to defend democratic values that unite the countries, that is why sanctions must remain in place until full restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity.

The parties agreed to continue bilateral consultations after Tillerson's visit to Moscow.
