9,940 people killed, 23,455 wounded in Donbas conflict, - UN

The United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission reports that 9,940 people have been killed and 23,455 wounded in the conflict in eastern Ukraine since 2014.

This is stated in a report by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Censor.NET reports.

The document comprises statistics on Ukraine's armed forces, civilians and members of armed groups, including 298 passengers killed as a result of the MH-17 plane crash.

As reported, over 2,000 civilians have died in hostilities, and 7,000 to 9,000 people were wounded.

During the period between Nov. 16, 2016 and Feb. 15, 2017, Ukraine suffered 130 conflict-related civilian casualties: 23 deaths and 107 injuries.

According to Ukrainski Novyny, the U.N. previously reported that 20 civilians had been killed and 91 wounded in the Donbas conflict since the beginning of 2017.
