Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement is recognition of Ukraine's reform progress, - Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko commented on the ratification of the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA).

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the head of state.

"Today is an important day for Ukraine-Canada relations. It's the day when the Free Trade Agreement was ratified, that has been elaborated by us and our Canadian colleagues for a while," the president said.

Poroshenko thanked the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for his cooperation and loyalty to strengthening the relations with Ukraine, as well as to Khrystia Freeland, trade minister, and now Canada's foreign affairs minister.

The president called the CUFTA a "symbolic transatlantic bridge of free trade" that will open North American market for Ukrainian business. He also said that a triangle of Ukraine-Canada-EU free trade is to be formed.
