One of Donbas blockade redoubt defenders injured as attackers make two storm attempts, - trade embargo HQ

A group of unidentified persons tried to storm the redoubt established by the 16th Volunteer Battalion in order to prevent trade with the occupied Donbas.

As reported by Censor.NET, the headquarters of the civil action to block trade with the invaders wrote on Facebook.

"The first two breach attempts were repulsed. We forced titushky (thugs for hire - Ed.) back and blocked the approaches and entrances to the redoubt. They are acting in conjunction with the so-called "police". It has been possible to avoid using firearms so far. Judging by the actions of the "police", making redoubt defenders to use firearms out of self-defense obviously was the main task of the provocation's mastermind," the activists wrote.

"Most of the so-called "titushky" obviously underwent military training. However, the attackers' identities have not yet been established. The Headquarters shall take all necessary steps to ensure security of the redoubt and unblock it but titushky get reinforcements too," trade blockade participants stressed.

"A redoubt defender who has been stabbed is still in the hospital. Nothing imperils his life now," Donbas blockade members added.

On Jan. 25, anti-terrorist operation (ATO) veterans blocked the Luhansk-Popasna haul, launching a trade blockade of the occupied Donbas areas. The movement of 12 trains with a total of 700 cars has been barred.

Later, Deputy Minister for the Occupied Territories and IDPs Heorhii Tuka said the decision to launch trade blockade was extra-legal. Minister for the temporarily occupied territories and IDPs Vadym Chernysh spoke against possible ban on commodities delivery across the contact line in the Donbas: "We need to be able to deliver coal, otherwise we will face problems throughout the country."

On Feb. 2, participants of the trade blockade barred another railroad track near Bakhmut.

On Feb. 27, separatist websites published a joint statement by the leaders of the so-called "republics" "DPR" and "LPR. " They demanded that Kyiv lifted the blockade by March 1, otherwise Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky promised to take over the enterprises that remain Ukraine-run and stop deliveries of coal to Ukraine from temporarily occupied territories.
