Spokesperson for the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press center Leonid Matiukhin said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET reports.
"A total of 54 attacks have been committed at the moment. Four our soldiers have been wounded. As for the serviceman who was earlier reported killed in action, the information has not been confirmed. As far as I know, the mentioned person was not a military. All the details will be clarified by the morning," the spokesperson said.
"The militants were particularly shelling Avdiivka's residential neighborhoods after 6 p.m. From what we have seen, from what we have filmed, two houses have been hit. One of them sustained severe damage. Two apartments in it just ceased to exist. The pipeline near the school was also hit," Matiukhin added.
He noted that Avdiivka have not come under such fierce strikes since 2014.
ATO Staff earlier reported about one Ukrainian soldier killed and three wounded in 32 attacks committed by 6 p.m. today.
