Ukrainian historian, President of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance Volodymyr Viatrovych wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"The reburial of Oleksandr Oles will take place on Sunday, Jan. 29. The memorial service will be held in St. Volodymyr's Cathedral at 12 p.m., the funeral - at an avenue on the Lukianivkske cemetery specially created for reburial of military, political, and cultural emigrants at 1:30 p.m.," he wrote.
As reported, the remains of Ukrainian poet Oleksandr Oles and his wife were exhumed in Prague Jan. 3. Under the Czech laws, after a burial, the relatives or friends of a deceased person have to pay a rent for a place in the cemetery in the amount of 20,000 krones ($773,05) for a 10-year period. Until recently, the rent for the grave of Oles had been paid by native of Ukraine Volodymyr Mykhailyshyn of his own volition. However, Mykhailyshyn has died recently, and his son wants to bury him in the grave of Oles.
On Jan. 3, 2017, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine to ensure the transportation of the remains of Ukrainian poet and writer Oleksandr Oles and organize a proper reburial ceremony.
