"You'd better deal with railroad stations," - PM Hroisman publicly reprimands infrastructure minister, bolsters Balczun’s actions

Today’s government session featured further confrontation between Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian and Head of Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC Wojciech Balczun. Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman urged the officials to stop arguing.

As reported by a correspondent for Censor.NET, PM Hroisman stood up for Balczun in the dispute.

"So you have no experience (in dealing with the railroad sector - Ed.) and, unfortunately, no expertise in managing the railroads," Hroisman addressed Omelian.

"I would like to stress that a minister is a serious person who should provide assistance, support and lead to success. A minister cannot afford being in good or bad terms with subordinates. I would not want personal relations to become a prerequisite for the Ukrainian Railroad's success.

"It is critical for me to see the Ukrainian Railroad prosper. I think this is what should unite us. You can start your quarrels and play your 'you-said-this-and-I-said-that' game somewhere in the ministry's secretariat. There is no room for this in the government.

"You'd better deal with the railroad stations and put things in order there over the last two years. It might be more use," Hroisman told Omelian.

Earlier, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelian said that the process of corporatization of Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC had stopped while no efforts to fight against corruption within the company were made.
