Yanukovych fled in company of Polezhai, Pshonka and Zakharchenko, - security guards

Witnesses' interviews were read out in Pechersk district court of Kyiv which hears the case of fugitive ex-president Viktor Yanukovych.

According to the Yanukovych's former security guards, he left Ukraine on Feb.23, 2014. He fled in the company of Lubov Polezhai, who is believed to be his mistress, former Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka and former Interior Minister Vitalii Zakharchenko, Censor.NET reports.

Yanukovych claimed during his interview in Kharkiv on Feb.22 that the motorcade was fired, while the security guards did not confirm this information.

''We arrived at the Kharkiv airport at about 3 p.m., where two Agusta helicopters were waiting for us. Commander Kobzar ordered to get into the helicopters. Yanukovych, Polezhai and others were siting in one of them. We did not know where we were going. Then I discovered that the ''Ukraeroruh'' manager ordered to return to the Kharkiv airport, referring to the Turchynov's order [Oleksandr Turchynov was an acting president of Ukraine at that moment - ed.]. The pilot said that we did not have enough fuel to return and decided to land in Donetsk city,'' the witness said.

This is the only incident the witnesses mention.

In Donetsk, Yanukovych and his company came to a large private house, which, according to the guard, belonged to the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov. Then Russian special forces evacuated Yanukovych from the Zaporizhia region to Crimea by plane. At that time, Yanukovych was accompanied by Polezhai, Zakharchenko, Pshonka, Kobzar and 10 gunmen. Yanukovych and his associates flew to Russia from Crimea.

Yanukovych is hiding in Russia since Feb. 2014. According to advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko, Russian President Vladimir Putin granted Russian citizenship to Yanukovych and former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.
