Second round of e-declarations filing kicks off in Ukraine, - NACP

The National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) reminds of the beginning of the second round of submitting electronic income and asset declarations by public officials.

April 1, 2017, has been set as the deadline for submitting e-declarations by individuals who hold posts of high responsibility and those equivalent to persons authorized to perform state or local government functions, as stipulated by the law of Ukraine on corruption prevention.

Starting from Jan. 1, 2017, the declarants must report to the NACP about significant changes in their property status if their income or acquired property exceeds the amount of 50 living wages (80,000 hryvnia or $2,832 as of Jan. 1, 2017) set for employable persons as of Jan. 1 of the respective year.

The list of persons falling under the law excludes, among others, the following categories of employees:

- social work officials engaged in social services, social and professional rehabilitation of adults and children with disabilities, social protection of war veterans and participants in the anti-terrorist operation;

- health care officials, excluding heads of health institutions of the national, regional, district and city (regional centers, Kyiv and Sevastopol) significance;

- education officials, except for the heads of higher education institutions and their deputies;

- officials in the science sector, except for those occupying high-ranking posts;

- officials of culture, arts and sports sectors.

The first round of submitting electronic income and asset statements by individuals holding responsible and highly responsible positions ended on Oct. 31, 2016. Nataliia Korchak, the NACP head, said it could take months to verify the declarations.
