 Economic Court of Kyiv administration building searched after judge nabbed, - prosecutor general's press secretary Sarhan

Law enforcers are conducting searches in the Economic Court of Kyiv building. A judge of the court was apprehended for bribe extortion earlier.

Censor.NET reports citing a Facebook post of prosecutor general's press secretary Larysa Sarhan.

She reported of "the first positive outcome of cooperation" between PGO (Prosecutor General's Office) and SAP (Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office).

The two agencies, Sarhan wrote, jointly arrested a judge of the Economic Court of Kyiv who attempted to receive a bribe from a business representative in amount of $16,000 for alleged facilitation in ruling in favor of the plaintiff.

The judge was nabbed while receiving a part of the bribe in the amount of $10,000.

Sarhan wrote investigation was underway to find more people involved in the case. Searched were conducted in the judge's home and in administration building of the Economic Court. The prosecution will ask for detention of the suspect, the press secretary said.
