Ukraine’s Justice Ministry launches online database of persons having unpaid public services

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has created a unified electronic register of persons with unpaid debts for public utilities.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement published on the ministry's formal website.

Both individuals and privately-operated enterprises were added to the database. To find out the amount of debt, you need to fill in a special form, specify the name, surname, patronymic, date of birth, and identification code or taxpayer's registration number.

It will be no longer possible to hide unpaid debts for public utilities. This should help solve the problems associated with the real estate transactions, the Ministry says.

The Ministry also plans to stiffen penalties for debtors. Individuals will be deprived of driver's licenses, while entrepreneurs will have their business licenses revoked.
