President Poroshenko has extended condolences to Turkey in connection with Istanbul attack of the New Year's night.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the head of state.

"Ukraine is shocked by the news of the terrible attack committed on the New Year night in Istanbul and causing dozens of deaths. We are grieving together with the Turkish people. We are grieving together with those who lost their loved ones," the president's message to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayiip Erdogan reads.

"Ukraine vigorously condemns terrorism in all its forms and advocates for consolidation of global efforts in fighting this threat," the head of state said.

Earlier, BBC reported of 39 killed and 70 wounded in New Year's night attack on Istanbul Reina night club. A man entered the club during the New Year celebration, opened fire, killing dozens, and subsequently fled.

Ukraine's Consulate in Istanbul is operating a hotline in connection with the attack.

Later, the Consulate Service Department of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry reported no Ukrainians were among the victims of the attack.
