Blaming delay in Ukraine visa liberalization on French election is speculation, - Ambassador Dumont

French Ambassador to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont claims blaming the postponement of introduction of visa-free regime for Ukraine on the upcoming presidential election in France is a speculation.

She said in an interview with Ukrinform, Censor.NET reports.

Asked where these speculations come from, the ambassador said she could not comment on the things having no connection with reality.

As regards the future of the Normandy format talks after the 2017 presidential election, the ambassador says it is premature to talk about the policy that will follow.

According to Dumont, the French foreign policy does not tend to change much. However, she said, with France playing a significant role on the world stage, its foreign policy is based on general principles, including the protection of human rights, international law and national interests.
